Terms of Use

Effective date: August 10, 2026.
Last updated: August 10, 2026.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of FederalFormGuide.com (“Federal Form Guide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

1. Independent informational website

Federal Form Guide is an independent publisher of general information about U.S. federal tax forms and related filing topics.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any other government agency.

2. No tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice

The website provides general educational information. It does not provide individualized tax, legal, accounting, financial, investment, or other professional advice.

Your use of the website does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, tax-preparer-client, fiduciary, representative, or other professional relationship.

You are responsible for evaluating how federal tax rules apply to your own facts and for obtaining qualified professional advice when appropriate.

3. Official IRS forms and instructions

Federal Form Guide may link directly to official IRS forms, instructions, publications, and other government resources. The IRS remains the authoritative source for official federal tax forms and IRS guidance.

Before filing, verify that you are using the current final form and current instructions for the applicable tax or reporting period. Do not assume that a draft or newer-looking document is the correct filing product.

4. No filing or representation service

Federal Form Guide does not:

  • prepare or file tax returns for users;
  • submit forms to the IRS on a user’s behalf;
  • receive federal tax payments;
  • access IRS taxpayer accounts;
  • obtain transcripts for users;
  • act under Form 2848 or another authorization;
  • represent users before the IRS;
  • guarantee a refund, credit, deduction, filing status, or tax result.

5. Accuracy and availability

We aim to use current primary sources and correct supported errors, but federal tax law, IRS forms, official URLs, deadlines, procedures, thresholds, and guidance can change.

The website is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant that every page will always be complete, current, error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or suitable for every taxpayer’s circumstances.

A Last Verified date indicates when core page information was checked; it is not a guarantee that no later government change has occurred.

6. Your responsibility when using tax information

You are responsible for confirming information that affects your filing, payment, election, eligibility, recordkeeping, or legal rights.

You are also responsible for filing complete and accurate returns, maintaining required records, signing forms, making payments, meeting deadlines, and using the filing method required for your circumstances.

7. External websites

The website links to IRS.gov and may link to other external websites. We do not control external websites and are not responsible for their content, security, availability, accessibility, privacy practices, terms, or subsequent changes.

A link is provided for convenience, source attribution, or reference and does not necessarily constitute endorsement.

8. Intellectual property and government material

Federal Form Guide’s original article text, organization, site design, and original graphics may be protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

U.S. government forms, instructions, publications, and other government materials may have different copyright status. We do not claim ownership of IRS forms or other government works merely because we link to, identify, quote, or explain them.

You may link to public Federal Form Guide pages. You may not reproduce substantial portions of our original editorial content in a way that falsely suggests authorship, affiliation, or permission, subject to rights available under applicable law such as fair use.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the website in a way that:

  • violates applicable law;
  • attempts unauthorized access to the website, server, account, or infrastructure;
  • introduces malware, malicious code, or harmful automated traffic;
  • interferes with normal website operation or security;
  • circumvents technical controls intended to prevent abuse;
  • impersonates Federal Form Guide, the IRS, Treasury, or another person or organization;
  • uses our content to create a misleading government-affiliation claim;
  • collects personal data from the website in violation of applicable law.

Reasonable use of public pages by ordinary browsers, search engines, accessibility tools, and legitimate research tools is not prohibited merely because it is automated. We may restrict abusive or security-threatening activity.

10. No sensitive-data submission

Do not send Federal Form Guide Social Security numbers, Employer Identification Numbers, Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers, tax-return copies, bank account numbers, payment-card information, identity documents, IRS credentials, or other sensitive taxpayer information unless we specifically provide a secure feature designed and disclosed for that purpose.

Our ordinary contact channel is intended for website feedback and correction reports, not private tax-case files.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Federal Form Guide and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or similar damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or an external link.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Privacy

Our handling of information related to website use is described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Corrections and editorial standards

Our editorial process is described in the Editorial Policy and Sources & Verification Policy. Suspected errors can be reported under the Corrections Policy.

14. Changes to the website or Terms

We may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue website features or content. We may also revise these Terms when our services, practices, or legal requirements change.

Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective or last-updated date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

15. Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through our Contact Us page.
